We visited the client’s home and analyzed the condition of the existing floor. We took garage measurements and discusued about usual vehicle traffic to finalize the flooring material.

Contract Planning

After deciding to use durable and 100% solid epoxy flooring, we prepared the final contract. We also decided on the schedule of 7 working days according to the client’s convenience.

Flooring Installation

We cleared the surface and prepared the subfloor. Then we applied a base coat of solid epoxy and mixed decorative flakes. When based get cured, we applied a UV-stable top coat for a durable finish.

Key Challenges & Solutions

Challenges

There was high natural moisture in the environment. So applying standard epoxy was a failure.

The epoxy coating was not adhering properly due to deep-seated oil stains.

The concrete floor was cracked heavily with several small holes that prevented smooth adhesion.

Solutions

Before applying the epoxy base coat, we installed the vapour barrier moisture primer for durable adhesion.

We thoroughly degrease the floor and mechanically grind the concrete to remove the contaminated top layer.

We use fast-setting polyurea crack filler and two-part structural epoxy to fill the crack and prepare a fully leveled subfloor.
